AirAsia X operated a special rescue flight from Stansted to Kuala Lumpur yesterday, taking home stranded passengers whose flights have been disrupted over the last week due to the airspace closure.

The Airbus A340-300, with its Oakland Raiders livery, took off at 3.30pm bound for the Malaysian capital with 286 passengers on board. The plane is pictured here taxiing to the runway.
