CIAS9Check-in at Stansted, the annual business exhibition brought to you by the Stansted Airport Chamber of Commerce is taking place at the Novotel Hotel on Thursday 29th June 2023 between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm is attracting businesses from across Essex, Hertfordshire, London, Cambridge and Suffolk to enjoy a fantastic day of promoting their brands and meeting with visitors all of whom are looking to connect and ‘do business’.

Sponsored by London Stansted Airport, Uttlesford District Council, HNE Media, Global and LOCALiQ, the expo is now in its 9th year, and is growing year on year.

Known for attracting quality in terms of both exhibitors and visitors, visitors can attend for free and enjoy other otherings such as speed networking, free seminars whilst mixing and mingling with businesses who will be showcasing their companies, products and services on the day.

Julie Budden, Chair of the Stansted Airport Chamber said: “The countdown now begins to the 9th expo where we believe ‘business has no boundaries’. This year we see returning exhibitors as well as new faces and we cannot wait to put on the show. Stansted is a fantastic gateway for business. With close links to London, Cambridge, Hertfordshire, and Suffolk, we are in an ideal position to attract as much business to the area as possible. Many businesses who have attended in the past have reaped the benefits of exhibiting in terms of new business, sales, attracting new people to join their organisations and more. We have limited exhibitor stands available so if you’re open for business, book now to exhibit. Stands start from as little at £125 + vat and there’s a package to suit all businesses”.

The exhibition will open at 9.30 am and closes at 3.30 pm. Seminars will run at 9.45 am, 12 pm and 3 pm – further details including topics and speakers are available on the website.

Two speed networking sessions will run at 10.30 am – 11.30 am and 1.30 pm – 2.30 pm. Spaces are limited for the speed networking sessions so book now to avoid disappointment.

Every year, the exhibition supports a charity where on the day raffle tickets can be purchased to win some fantastic prizes, Previously, prizes have included flights, hotel accommodation, spa breaks, memorabilia and more. The 2023 charity of choice is Mind in West Essex, a charity continuing to support mental health including mental health in the workplace. The team at Mind in West Essex, who rely heavily on local fundraising will be attending on the day.

Jade Bolton, Fundraising & Marketing Coordinator for Mind in West Essex added: “Our vision is for West Essex to be a place where people talk openly and positively about mental health, and where everyone gets the support and respect needed to live well. We do this in a variety of ways, such as providing talking therapies like counselling, providing social and support groups, giving people access to crisis support and working hard to reduce the negative stigma around mental health. We also provide a really big range of training and resources for communities and businesses through our online academy and face to face training to help improve workplace wellbeing. We are delighted to have been announced, for the second time, Checkin @ Stansted’s charity of choice for 2023 and look forward to raising the profile and vital funds for Mind in West Essex on the day”.

Today, alongside confirming support for the development of a third runway at Heathrow, the Government has confirmed, in a statement to Parliament, its support for other UK airports looking to make best use of existing runway capacity. The policy makes clear that Government supports all UK airports making best use of their existing runways.

This follows a consultation last year as part of the Government’s development of a new Aviation Strategy.”

In response to the Government statement, Ken O’Toole, London Stansted CEO, said:

“Ahead of the anticipated decision from Uttlesford District Council relating to our application to increase the airport’s limit on passenger numbers to 43 million per year, we welcome today’s statement from Government confirming its support for airports looking to make best use of existing capacity.

“It is vital for the UK economy that the country has the best possible aviation connections and that there is an urgent need to actively support airports, like London Stansted, that can deliver that access now.

“Over the last five years we have increased passenger numbers by nearly 10 million, doubled the number of airlines and secured six new services to the most popular destinations for passengers from the region including Dubai, New York, Boston, Toronto and Washington.

“Building on these successes, we are investing £600 million to improve the airport experience and have submitted a planning application to make best use of our single runway. This will unlock Stansted potential and enable us to serve up to 43 million passengers, deliver 50 percent of London’s expected passenger growth over the next decade and extend the choice of airlines and destinations we serve.”

Networking in temperatures in excess of 32 deg!

190716On one of the hottest days of the year, SACC Members and Guests got together to enjoy the heatwave, network and share experiences of this year's Check-in @ Stansted Business Exhibition brought to you by the Stansted Airport Chamber of Commerce which was held back in June.  Quite a contrast on the weather front, with the exhibition date itself suffering from torrential rain and storms!

It was good to welcome some new faces to the event including Fiona Henry from the Cannon Ball Run Europe, Stephen Hanks from Blue Dragon Cars, Pri Bamford from Nurture Pensions, Steve Clayden from airport based Swissport, Lottie and Joanna from IWM Events as well as Jamie and his colleagues from Taylor Milburn just to mention a few.  We are hoping to welcome them as SACC Members really soon!

Julie Budden, Chair SACC said:

"A lot of hard work is put into organising events and it was a delight to see so many people come along to support the BBQ. Having the sunshine was a real bonus! Mike Shields and his team did us proud once again with tasty food, chilled wine and beer - a perfect end to the day!".

Julie went on to say:

"It was great hearing from some of the exhibitors how they have secured business from the recent Check-in @ Stansted - this makes it all worthwhile".

Mike Shields, owner of the Lion and Lamb said: "It is always a pleasure to host the SACC BBQ, there are some wonderful people within the group and I have made some great contacts over the years. I look forward to seeing them all again soon here at the Lion and Lamb".
